On with sound deadening...
Butyl rubber mats glued to the wheel arches. Again some felt stripes and this time some additional Butyl mats
were added before another layer of bitumen pads went in...
Now to fit that infamous felt cover. The original one tended to totally disintegrate over the years.
The felt I used is latex covered on the top which may increase durability...
Felt like the The Valiant Little Tailor... That mat will go back in when adding the new carpet (much) later.
Removed the remaining old carpets an started to scrape the old glue encrustations off...
Damn, that wheel arch looked nasty. Most likely some brake fluid from a former leak at the reservoir found its way
down into the black hole and due to capillary action gnawed at the sealer on the inside...
So I took out the wiring harness and peeled off the softened and brittle sealer. Man, there's always something...
